TORAFU ARCHITECTS is an architectural studio established by Koichi Suzuno and Shinya Kamuro in 2004.
Koichi Suzuno was born in 1973 in Kanagawa Prefecture. In 1996, he graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Two years later, he obtained a master’s degree from Yokohama National University. From 1998-2001, he worked at Coelacanth K&H Architects and from 2002-2003 at Kerstin Thompson Architects (Melbourne). He worked as a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts, Showa Women’s University, Nagoya National University, Tokyo City University, etc.
Shinya Kamuro was born in 1974 in Shimane Prefecture. In 1997, he obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Meiji University. Two years later, he got his master’s degree from the same university. From 2000-2003, he worked at Jun Aoki and Associates. He’s currently a part-time lecturer at Showa Women’s University.
The studio boasts many awards, including TOPAWARDS ASIA Award, Design for Asia Award, JDC Design Award, etc.
