WARO KISHI + K.ASSOCIATES/Architects is a Gold Award-winning architectural studio founded by Waro Kishi in 1993. Waro Kishi was born in 1950 in Yokohama. He holds a degree in electronics and architecture. In 1978, Waro Kishi finished his post gradual studies at Kyoto University. In 1981, he established Waro Kishi, Architects & Associates, before redesigning it into WARO KISHI + K.ASSOCIATES/Architects in 1993.
After establishing his office, Waro Kishi was a professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology, taught Architecture Design at Kyoto Institute of Technology, and worked as a professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. He’s currently working as a visiting professor at the University of California in Berkley, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, and as a professor at Kyoto University of The Arts.
The practice has won numerous awards since its foundation, including the Housing Design Award for Osaka, GOOD DESIGN AWARD, The Prize of Architectural Institute of Japan (AIJ) for Design, Japan Institute of Architects (JIA) Award for the best young architect of the year, etc.
